“Brian and I thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at the Blue Heron Cottage. The tranquility and beauty of the surroundings made it especially enjoyable. In many ways it feels like a wee gem that we don’t want discovered as it could hinder it’s availability next time. 🙂 It’s proximity to some fabulous hiking trails further added to it’s appeal. It was perfect for the 2 of us, and we would definitely stay there again.”Deb
“We had a magical experience at Blue Heron Cottage. The home is tucked away in “Kw’as Bay”on Hague Lake with very few other neighbours for ideal privacy and relaxation. We spent many nights watching the sun set over the lake, listening to the bustle of wildlife, and the home itself was the perfect size for our needs. We loved the kitchen! Its location on the Island was ideal due to being just around the corner from the Co-Op as well as many other beaches, although we spend most of our time by our private lake access. My partner had been to Cortes six years earlier and had borrowed a canoe to travel through the canal between Hague and Gunflint Lake, and so we were overjoyed when Janek permitted us to borrow his canoe and to use his private dock for swimming. Incredibly gracious and hospitable hosts who respected our privacy while being available at our beck and call. We can’t wait to return in future years!”Tahnee & Bradshaw
“We really enjoyed staying at Blue Heron Cottage. The privacy and peacefulness of the property and especially the lakeside deck was what made it a very relaxing holiday. Swimming in the lake was wonderful and the sandy beach was a bonus, although we never used it as the deck provided perfect access to the water. And the hosts, Jurek and Gina were wonderful, very friendly and accomodating but discreet and respectful of our privacy.”George G.
“My wife and I have twice stayed at Blue Heron. Both vacations were very peaceful and fun. The cottage is perfectly situated for hiking, swimming and boating. The hosts, Gina and Jurak, are very nice, yet they do not intrude. One has complete privacy, if one wishes.”Rob M.
“Very satisfied …The views of Hague Lake from this cottage are absolutely sublime. We had a magical week long stay and found joy in all the beautiful details of this cottage. Also provided the perfect location for exploring the beaches and trails or Cortes.”CP
“We enjoyed the setting of the cottage so close to the lake and enjoyed looking out toward the bluffs and the swimming rock.
The cottage was clean, comfortable and lovely inside and the decks were great for sitting on and relaxing while reading, painting or enjoying a morning coffee.”
